#5 ✽ Some exciting news ✽
about a big step in our art & community practices + tattoo booking info & discount.
Dear beautiful you,
This months newsletter was going to be about the hardships of slowing down. About how this is really hard doing so and not able for a lot of people to begin with.
But this month was ironically to busy for me to sit down every week to write about this topic. Because I still want to send out a newsletter this month, I’m going to write a shorter one. (I will share more insights on this topic later tough, because I believe it’s really important in questioning the topic of “slowing down” through a critical lens.)
In this letter I will share about:
Some really exciting news
Tattoo booking information
New tattoo flashes I made (+ discount)
We found a studio
So one of the reasons that the last couple of weeks were so busy, is that we found an art studio!!! We are super excited about this news but as you can imagine this also brought quit some extra work for us to do. The last couple of weeks we signed contracts, searched for (and found) 2 new (and amazing) studio mates, deep cleaned the whole space, drove through whole Rotterdam by bike to pick up marktplaats finds and painted the whole studio. Next week we are finally able to move all our stuff to the studio.

What are we going to use the studio space for?
We all have our personal studio corner where we can practice our own personal crafts. I’m going to take my printmaking more serious (I’m building my own small print-making corner), pick up painting again and work on new lino stamp tattoos.
We have a community space that we can use for hosting workshops and community gatherings. I’m really exciting about everything we wil organise here with Garden of Queerdom. I’m also thinking about organising printmaking community sessions here (in the future), where we can come together and going against the system by slowing down and creating prints together.
Besides our own studio we are also going to start a community garden outside with some of the other artists in the building. I’m really exciting what this garden will bring us. Last year I dipped my toes into the world of gardening on my balcony all by myself during my burnout. It feels perfectly timed to start this community garden one year later (and way further in my burnout healing).
Our studio is part of a new project, called C3-studios, that hosts more than 100 artists (most of who also live in the same neighbourhood the studio is located in: Charlois, Rotterdam) in a old school building. Everyone is part of a collective and a lot will be organised in the future, which is really exciting! There will be an official opening in the weekend of 28/29/30th of March during Rotterdam Art Week as part of South Explorer where you can visit the studio’s in our building (+ closing event of South Explorer on Sunday 30th of March from 18:00 till late).
Tattoo bookings
Because of all the work I putt into this studio, I had less time to draw and make new tattoo designs. If everything goes according to plan, we are all moved and settled from March on. This means that I have more time and space again to create new work.
I would like to use this time to translate your lino stamp ideas. In the form below, you can suggest an idea that I will translate into a tattoo-able lino stamp!
New tattoo flashes (+ discount)
Because of all the chaos, I haven’t been able to create new flashes the last couple of weeks. But I did make some new designs before the chaos started that I would like to give their well deserved attention.

Discount of 15%
When choosing one of the flashes below designs before the end of February, you will get a discount of 15%*. This discount doesn’t apply to the flashes above. If you want to claim one of the flashes with discount, please mention the “newsletter discount” when filling in the form.
*Regardles of the discount, my minimum price is €200.

With love <3
